Lot 226 – MGB GT “Chrome Bumper” 1 Lady owner from new. 1972
Estimated Value : £9,000 – £10,000
The history file that comes with this genuinely one lady owner MGB, is over 4 inch’s thick! Every receipt, service bill, Mot etc is there charting its entire life. This car was in everyday use and while, no it has never been restored, anything and everything that was needed was attended to at the time. Now with its owner turning 80 years old it is time for a new owner.
Body work is very good with only the very odd sign of corrosion under the paint, the worse of which is on the front valance, but still not bad and totally repairable. Paint is good and still shines nicely as does all the bright work.
Interior does require some attention to the cloth section of the driver’s seat but still could be repaired, rather than replaced, to keep the originality. Otherwise the interior is very good with no sign of heavy wear. Bear in mind that the majority of the time there was only ever one person in the car as she commuted to her work and back. Mechanically the car is “100%” and needs nothing and there will be a new MOT on the car, prior to auction.
While no this is not the cheapest MGB on the market today, what you will have with just a very small amount of work, is a one owner, totally original 1972 “Chrome Bumper” MGB with the biggest history file you will find. Try finding another at any price!
