Lot 158 – Porsche 944 LUX Manual 1987
Estimated Value : £2,500 – £4,000
Presented in the popular “Alpine White” The overall exterior condition of this nice 1987 Porsche 944 Lux’s is described by the vendor as “Having the odd age related mark or two but with no dents. For a 30 year old car it is very good”.
Interior is also good, having just some damage to the front seat coverings, a known weak spot of late 80’s Porsches. But what you will find is that due to the attention received recently the electric windows and central locking work as does the rare to find sun-roof, even the aftermarket alarm works. The only thing that does not is the remote boot release but they hardly ever worked from new, so no surprise there.
The 2.5 litre engine under the bonnet is in good order. The history that is with the car ( no service book but lots of invoices going back to the 90’s) shows regular servicing and the all-important cam belt change. The manual gearbox, described as in fair condition, is just beginning to feel a bit worn in use. Nothing wrong with it as it selects all the gears just the selection itself. Otherwise the overall condition of the running gear is very good having just had 4 new tyres, a new exhaust and the breaks overhauled for the last MOT in June this year.
Like all Porsches the 944 has suddenly become popular with the “Lux” packed manual transmission cars leading the way. With only 119K on the clock, lots of history and an MOT until June next year this particular car is well worth a look at.
