Lot 117 – Porsche 924 Turbo RHD 1982
Estimated Value : £11,000 – £15,000
Rare when first produced with very low numbers of UK spec right hand drive cars ever making it to our shores, but now exceedingly rare is this very nice Porsche 924 “Turbo”
Presented in the unusual two tone platinum metallic over mocha brown exterior while the interior is beige leatherette with brown pin striped inlays, all of which are in very good order and even the removable roof panel storage bag is with the car. The car has an extensive history file showing a service history with 20 stamps, the last service was carried out by a Porsche Specialist at the cost of £1.200 only 14 miles ago. There is also a “Certificate of Authenticity” from Porsche showing its build date as 26.01.82 and first registration as 11.05.82 which is strange as all the production figures show no cars were produced that year for the “rest of the world” Just 1819 units were produced in 1982, split between the LHD American market and the RHD Japanese? If anyone reading this enlighten the vendor please do. Another unusual feature of the car, apart from it was ordered with the rare sun roof option was it was, in the eighties owned by the key board legend Mr Peter John Vettese who played with mega groups such as “Jethro Tull and Survivor” to name a few.
The overall condition of this car is very good, that coupled to its rarity, service history and past ownership, it is probably one of the best available on the market today. A real blue chip investment opportunity.
