Lot 107 – BMW 635 csi “Highline” 1989
Estimated Value : £10,000 – £12,000
Rare to find in this metallic burgundy colour over an ivory/grey leather interior, the pictures largely tell the story as to the condition of this superb last year of production BMW635CSi.
Described by the vendor as being in “A1 condition with only a few very minor blemishes”, the car was owned for the majority of its life by Lord Illingworth of Idstone. With bills in his ownership exceeding £11,000 the car has been kept in ‘show condition’. He added the favourable Alpina wheels along with a strut brace in the engine bay to sharpen the handling.
With the car is an equally impressive history file with a fully stamped service history to the current mileage of 131,000. The rear seats are ‘as-new’ and the front seats show the style of patina that can be expected from a 30 year old car, miraculously the side bolsters have survived very well, the only thing of note is there is a small split in the driver’s seat base that looks like somebody has sat on something sharp and caused this damage, an easy repair but one the vendor wanted to point out.
An excellent car to drive, the sound from the flat six engine is hard to match. Meticulously looked after throughout its life, this 635 remains in excellent condition. Not only an excellent investment but a beautiful car to own and enjoy.
