MGB GT ” Chrome Bumper” 1969
Estimated Value : £5,000 – £7,000
Having benefited from a full respray in 2014 the body work on this glorious 1969 Chrome Bumper MGB-GT is basically un-marked and is set off by nice chrome and refurbished wire wheels. Since the paintwork was attended to the vendor took the opportunity to fit many other new parts including a stainless steel exhaust, brake servo, alternator, oil cooler, electronic ignition, radiator, new clutch and a new “high ratio” crown wheel & pinion complete with new bearings, that now results in comfortable cruising at 70mph or just over 3000 RPM. But probably and most importantly, a fully reconditioned engine complete with a converted to run on unleaded head as been fitted. This in turn was carefully run in with appropriate oil changes, has now covered a little over 2000 miles and shows excellent oil pressure (60psi at any reasonable speed and 40-50 idling when hot).
Interior wise the leather seats are aged but in good order and the carpets were renewed in 2015, electrics on the car are good and there is a history comprising of receipts for not only all the work previously mentioned but many others as well, plus old MOT certificates and the current MOT which runs until September 2018.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to buy a fully sorted example of one of Britains best loved Classic cars and being offered with a realistic reserve.
